The functions of the Tax Collections Department are:

• To collect current and delinquent taxes using all available legal remedies.
• To answer phone and over-the-counter inquiries about taxpayer accounts.

Important dates and information for the Collections Department are:

• Regular (real estate) bills are sent out around the first week in September of each year.
• Interest will be added to these regular bills if not paid by January 5th. Interest on these bills accrues at the rate of 2% for January, and ¾% for all Subsequent months until paid.
• Motor vehicle bills are sent out the first week of each month.
• Interest will added to these bills on the first day of the following month. Interest on motor vehicle bills accrues at the rate of 5% on the first month and ¾% for each month thereafter.
• Tax liens are advertised in March of each year.
