It is now policy that the Watauga County Sheriff's office can not process nor otherwise issue any Pistol Purchase Permit unless the identification presented by a legally recognized ID by the State of NC matches the address on the PPP form, by, and of, the applicant.
The purpose of this policy is to enhance and clarify any permit(s) application(s) as issued within and by Watauga County (Sheriff’s Office), the State of North Carolina, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.
If an applicant wishes to change their NCOL, or NCID to a Watauga County, NC address, it may be changed to match the application address, upon the sole discretion and voluntarily of the applicant.
