Chairman Deal called the meeting to order at 4:07 P.M.

Chairman Deal turned the meeting over to Joe Furman who gave a synopsis of the water and sewer history in the County. Mr. Furman stated it was not economically feasible to have countywide water and sewer and that corridors with water and sewer would be the most feasible for the County to pursue. Mr. Furman said there were four (4) main corridors in the County to be considered for water and sewer. The four corridors ranked in priority by the Board were, 1) Boone to Blowing Rock, 2) Boone to Deep Gap, 3) Boone to Vilas, and 4) Foscoe Corridor. Additionally, the Board discussed cooperative efforts to meet the future water and sewer needs of the County.

After considerable discussion it was the consensus of the Board to set a meeting date with Ashe County to evaluate possible joint projects. The Board also requested a joint meeting with the Town of Boone, Town of Blowing Rock, and Appalachian State University.

Commissioner Blust, seconded by Vice-Chairman Winkler, moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:14 P.M.
