Important dates and information for the Room Occupancy Tax are:
- July 1, 2006, effective date of Room Occupancy Tax.
- Room Occupancy Tax Rate is 6% of gross short-term rentals of less than 90 days.
- Due date is the 15th of each month and is considered late after the 20th of the month.

PUBLIC NOTICE/PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE:
THE WATAUGA COUNTY TOURISM DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY DISTRICT U PROPOSED BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2007/2008 IS AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC INSPECTION ONLINE HERE, AND IN THE COUNTY MANAGER’S OFFICE, AT THE WATAUGA COUNTY ADMINISTRATION BUILDING. A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED BUDGET SHALL BE HELD ON WEDNESDAY, JUNE 27, 2007, 9:00 A.M. AT WHICH TIME ANY PERSONS WHO WISH TO BE HEARD ON THE BUDGET MAY APPEAR. THE BUDGET HEARING WILL BE HELD IN THE COUNTY MANAGER’S CONFERENCE ROOM AT THE WATAUGA COUNTY ADMINISTRATION BUILDING.
