POSITION OPENING
Watauga County Information Technologies Department is accepting applications for the position of Personal Computer/Network Specialist. Duties include troubleshooting network problems; designing network strategies; upgrading PCs, servers, and printers; installing and configuring various software packages and applications; monitoring systems; monitoring and maintaining backups; providing assistance to users; maintaining system documentation and inventory; and preparing records and files. This position will require the ability to lift moderate to heavy equipment. A valid driver’s license is required and a successful applicant must be able to pass a background check. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited community college, with major course work in computer systems or related field and considerable networking and/or PC troubleshooting experience is preferred. County benefit package includes health insurance, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave. Salary Grade 16, $43,519. Application deadline is Friday, August 29, 2014.
