Description | Watauga County Parks and Recreation is seeking qualified individuals to serve as Field Supervisors for youth and adult baseball/softball games.
The desired candidate will have knowledge of baseball/softball through playing, umpiring and/or scorekeeping experience.
Field Supervisors will work approximately 2—5 days (an average of 5 to 20 hours) per week with weekday hours between 5 pm and 11 pm and Saturday hours between 9 am and 5 pm.
Responsibilities include keeping score and detailed accounts of the athletic events; completing and submitting game reports; opening and closing the athletic facilities; making decisions to play or cancel games; assisting with field maintenance including raking, moving bases, chalking lines and applying turface; knowledge of and enforcement of department policies; maintaining a safe, fun and family friendly environment at athletic events; cleaning up of athletic areas; getting help for injured participants; and umpiring in non-competitive games.
The ability to work with all demographics, and a friendly, personable, and service-oriented demeanor is required.
CPR & 1st Aid certification highly recommended.
A background check is required.

This is a seasonal, part-time position. The baseball/softball season begins early to mid-April and concludes early to mid– June. Field supervisors in good standing with WCP&R may be asked to work special events such as All-Star games throughout the summer.
This position offers a flexible weekly schedule based on staffs’ abilities and availability.
Wage & Compensation Benefits: $9/hour.
